Okay so week 5 is less than 24 hours from game time and here is my analysis of my Game Of The Week
Titans at Ravens
Stadium: M&T Bank Stadium
Kickoff at 1:00 P.M. Eastern Time
Titans come into an old foe's stadium this week and are looking to stay undefeated. While the Ravens are coming off a real physical loss against the Steelers this past Monday night. I would say that this would be a safe pick for the Titans this week but, the Ravens play to the Titans strengths and weaknesses whenever they play each other.
Titan's Offensive Review: Kerry Collins comes in to this game, fairly on a hot streak, he is throwing good passes and making good decisions. He looks like a very crafty veteran out on the field, a true field general. the main reason Collins is able to make good decisions this years is because of the running game. Rookie sensation Chris Johnson, who won offensive rookie of the month, is a huge factor due to the Titans success. While Johnson is the home run hitter running back, Lendale White is the thunder to Johnson's lighting. Pounding out short yardage TD's and wearing down opposing D-Lines is freeing up more time for Collins to pass the ball and, leaving defenses off balance.
Titan's Defensive Review: The Titans D is phenomenally playing well. Led by DE Kyle Vanden Bosch and LB Keith Bulluck, the D is making plays and forcing opposing offenseive players to make bad decision's. Albert Haynesworth is an absolute monster in the middle right now, he has 5 sacks already and, is constantly harassing the backfield. With his force in the middle, he is taking double teams freeing up Jevon Kearse and Kyle Vanden Bosch to make plays, but who is really reaping the benefits of Haynesworth's ability is Tony Brown. Tony Brown is the unknown man on this line and is making some great plays, including last weeks hit on Viking's QB Gus Frerotte forcing a game clinching interception.
Raven's Offensive Review: The Ravens and Titans are a mirror image of each other on offense but, the Ravens have a lot to be happy about with the rookie play of QB Joe Flacco. Flacco, who was the Ravens's first pick this year, is playing like a 5 year QB instead of a rookie. making good decisions but, under pressure he has thrown the ball up and fumbled the ball, but even so he has played very well. One of the main reason's his play is doing so well is because the Raven's offensive line is giving him time. Tackles Adam Terry and Jared Gaither are taking pressure of Flacco and letting him do what he does best, throw the ball.
Raven's Defensive Review: It doesn't matter what year it is and what players are on the Ravens defense, they are always one of the elite defenses in the NFL. Led by perennial nightmare LB Ray Lewis, the defense is on a mean streak this week. After giving up that big pass against the Steelers Monday night to get great field position for the winning field goal, the secondary, without CB Samari Rolle for a month, is looking to make some big plays this game. They still have Ed Reed and Chris McAllister controlling the secondary, and along with D-Lineman Haloti "The Huge" Ngata putting pressure on opposing QB's, the Raven's "D" is just looking for the Titan's to slip up and capitalize on their mistake.
Key Match-up:Titans RB's vs. Ravens LB's is what to look for this week. With Ray Lewis still in the middle, and all-pro LB Bart Scott there with him, will be interesting to watch how they try and slow down RB Chris Johnson and probably try goal line stand Lendale White also. Ray Lewis is still one of the most intimidating and all around scariest players in the game, he broke Steelers rookie RB Rashard Mendenhall's shoulder last week, Chris Johnson be warned.
Pick and Score:
Some people are calling this the Titans first lose I beg to differ, but this game does look scary for the Titans. After that loss against the Steelers, The Ravens are looking to stay on top of the AFC north so this game will be a close one. This game will depend the special teams play and field position. I am going to have to go with TITANS in a very close and physical game 17-14 final score
