Right to Cheer, No Matter What

Anybody and everybody has the right to enjoy sporting events, without any regard to which team they root for.

It used to be commonplace for a fan of the opposing team to encounter brutal hell, unleashed by home team fans at a game. An Oakland Raider fan, as soon as entering Arrowhead Stadium (home of the Kansas City Chiefs), would become the victim of hatred from mobs of Chiefs fans.

The National Football League has decided in the last few years to make the environment at its sporting events less chaotic and uncomfortable. Fans of either side now has the ability to enjoy the game.

The Fans First Program along with Fan Code of Conduct Rules have been created, and its about time!!

One prime example is showcased at Arrowhead Stadium. Having attended a few games in the last year, I have noticed a dramatic difference in fan behavior. Many teams in the NFL have a program in place, hampering the amount of harassment at their games.

Now people can turn in troublemakers without having to leave their seat.

The long, lonely road to the security office is now replaced with the texting program enforced throughout stadiums nationwide. All a fan has to do is look around the stadium to find the right number to text. Then a fan texts there section number to alert security officers of a problem.

Security comes to the rescue without anyone knowing who made the alert. It may seem to some as a gutless move, but every fan has paid to enjoy NFL action. And no one should have their rights infringed upon, due to the childishness of an unruly fan.

No fan is better than another, and no one should take it upon themselves to lower the excitement level of another fan. Now, everybody can cheer for their team without enduring the overwhelming use of profanities, name-calling, insults, etc.

The most creative element of this program is the use of security officers dressed in casual clothing/sports apparel. This helps to not give themselves away to obnoxious fans. And BOOM!! the fans are busted.

Fans First helps to eliminate the harassment and ridicule that became commonplace for many decades. The time to act a fool are over. Anyone who wants to break the new rules can now do so in the comfort of their car.

As for the rest of us, we will enjoy the game while watching unruly, obnoxious fans get tossed.

Enjoy the Game; Focus on the play-by-play, instead of making a mockery of sportsmanship.

Example of what a alert text involves: Text “CHIEFS” YOUR LOCATION AND ISSUE TO 69050. Fans can text during the game, three hours prior to kickoff and 30 minutes post-game from any cell phone.
