Randy Moss Is A Tennessee Titan!

The Tennessee Titans made an outstanding pickup with the waiver claim for Randy Moss. Every other team in the National Football League passed on one of the most outstanding playmakers ever to play the game. His one-handed catch this year was unbelievable.

Moss will wear No. 84.

After passing on Moss in the 1998 draft, (how ridiculously outlandish was that) and going with Kevin Dyson, the Titans finally get to cash in on the skills of one of the best WRs ever. Randy Moss in college was as talented as Jerry Rice, eclipsing 3,529 yards and 54 TDs through 28 games over two years with the Marshall Thundering Herd.

Finishing his two-year career at Marshall having scored at least one TD in each and every game that he played, Moss was the player to pick up in the draft. And now the Titans have a shot to see his worth.

As the single season TD reception record holder, with 23 in 2007, (17 as a rookie in 1998 for another record) the Titans will be showcasing Moss if they are to continue a run to the playoffs.

Moss has played for the Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, Vikings again and now has come to play for the Tennessee Titans. Moss sits at 948 receptions for 14,778 yards and 153 TDs. It will be nice to see if “good ‘ol Randy” can return to form as not only an elite receiver, but as a statistical king.

In 2007, along with 23 TDs from Tom Brady, Moss was able to attain 1,493 yards. With his best years in his first tenure in Minnesota, the Raiders failed to see a successful Moss, with his stats only reaching 1,558 and 11 TDs through 29 games.

It will take another deep threat for the Titans in order to run the table in the AFC South. Kenny Britt on one side, with Moss on the other will be quite a site to see. Watch out Miami!!

The addition of Randy Moss will help lighten the load of Chris Johnson, who has been ran like a dog the last couple years. A passing threat, and a successful one at that, is important in order to legitimately with the pass-happy Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans.

Since the Tennessee Titans transformed from the Houston Oilers, the highest receiving totals have been: 1,303 by Derrick Mason in 2003, 1,247 by Drew Bennett in 2004, and 1,168 by Mason again in 2004. This last stat by Mason is the last time a Titan actually eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark.

If Moss can team up with Vince Young and Jeff Fisher, the run may be on as was the case in the last half of last season. The most important thing is to finish strong and keep Moss for as long as possible if all is going good.

Only time will tell the outcome of what seems to be an epic waiver claim. The journey begins Sunday, Nov 14, 2010 at 12:00PM CST in Miami.
