My Grizz are 2-2 on the season at the start. They make be playing good basketball, but defense is what they want on their minds. We'll see how that happens as the season progresses.

Weeks 6 and 7

After a bye week, Lendale White was like Jennifer Lopez. He was the ultimate triple threat in scoring a TD 3 times as the Titans beat the Chiefs to make it 6-0. They are still undefeated and maybe one day, they'll win a Superbowl.

John Smoltz posted on 10/18/2008

We continue our look at the '95 Braves with another picther.

John Andrew Smoltz (born May 15, 1967 in Warren, Michigan) is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Atlanta Braves. He is predominantly known as a starter and former Cy Young Award winner. However, before the 2001 season, his 13th, he became a closer. In 2002 he became only the second pitcher in history to have had both a 20-win season and a 50-save season (the other being Hall of Famer Dennis Eckersley). He is the only pitcher in Major League history to top both 200 wins and 150 saves. He became the 16th member of the 3,000 strikeout club on April 22, 2008 when he fanned Felipe Lopez of the Washington Nationals in the third inning in Atlanta.

Steve Avery posted on 10/04/2008

Our Look at the Braves title run' begins with Steve Avery.

After graduating from John F. Kennedy High School in Taylor, Michigan, Avery was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in June 1988. He made his first career start on June 13, 1990 against the Cincinnati Reds at Riverfront Stadium and was clobbered, giving up eight runs in 2.1 innings. He ended his rookie year with a record of 3-11 in 21 starts with a 5.64 ERA. Along with Tom Glavine, John Smoltz, and Pete Smith, Avery was christened one of Atlanta's "Young Guns," the name for the pitching staff with great potential but little offensive help.

With his career in a sudden and premature decline, Avery was granted free agency and signed with the Boston Red Sox on January 22, 1997. He pitched two years for the Red Sox, going 16-14 over two seasons as the number two starter behind Pedro Martínez, however his ERA was 5.64 and he was clearly finished as the brilliant pitcher who dazzled fans and batters in 1991.
